The relation between economic goals and social ambitions has always been much-disputed within the European cooperation. Not least in times of economic crisis, member states ability to combine the demands of the internal market with a social policy in the interest of the citizens is put to test.

Against this background, SIEPS is organizing a two-day conference on the social dimension of the EU and the challenges the Union is facing today. The conference will bring together academics from several European countries and disciplines, ensuring a wide perspective of the topic and presenting a useful foundation for discussion.

The conference is taking place at Hotel Scandic Sergel Plaza in Stockholm and is open to the public. It is divided into three seminars and you may register for one or more seminars. All seminars will be conducted in English.
