Date: 24 September 2007
The road to full membership of the European Union is long and demanding for an applicant country. The EU sets a number of convergence criteria that the applicant state needs to fulfil. This seminar was devoted to Romania’s path to full EU membership. The mechanisms of steering, power and control used by the EU when exerting influence over its neighbourhood are at the centre of the study Steering and Power: The EU Evaluating Romania (report in Swedish) which was presented at the seminar. The report is part of the research project Borders of the new EU - possibilitites and challenges.
