The Purse of the European Union

SIEPS’ Annual Conference 2007 was devoted to the ongoing review of the EU budget, which will be completed in 2008-2009. The review should cover “all aspects of EU spending, including the CAP, and of resources, including the UK rebate. Professor André Sapir and professor Iain Begg discussed ways and means of reform with the Minister for EU Affairs Cecilia Malmström and MEP Göran Färm. The discussion covered both revenue and expenditure.

SIEPS also published a European Policy Analysis, “Agenda 2014 – A Zero-Base Approach”, by the chairman of the conference, Professor Daniel Tarschys.
