The Stockholm Programme – An ambitious programme for Freedom, Security and Justice?

A new five year plan for cooperation in the area of Freedom, Security and Justice is expected to be adopted during the Swedish Presidency. This new plan will be called the Stockholm Programme. The uncertain future of the Lisbon Treaty, the upcoming referendum in Ireland and the economic crisis are some elements that could lead to a less ambitious Stockholm programme.
