Euro Plus Pact: Between Global Competitiveness and Local Social Concerns (2011:13epa)
The Euro Plus Pact was developed as a complementary mechanism to support the economic governance reform program at the national level, particularly with regard to sectors, which are prerogatives of Member States. Already early on, however, it gained a rather controversial reputation.
In this Analysis, Karolina Zurek, Senior Researcher in Law at SIEPS, studies the potential impact of the Pact, examining it in the contexts of three ongoing debates: on new governance methods, on economic governance reform and on Social Europe.
