Opinionsstödet för EU fortsätter att öka (2011:4epa)

Författare: Holmberg Sören

Despite the financial crisis and the subsequent euro crisis, the Swedish public opinion is increasingly in favour of the EU. In the 2010 survey, 53 percent are in favour of the Swedish membership while 23 percent are against.

24 percent have no opinion. But not all indicators point in the same direction. Support for the euro has plummeted since the last poll and support for a Turkish EU membership is low.

This analysis draws upon the survey of public opinion annually published by SIEPS in collaboration with the SOM Institute at the University of Gothenburg. The analysis is part of the research project Swedish Public Opinion on the European Integration and was presented at the seminar Swedish Public Opinion on the EU.
